Virtual Circle Time for Mr. Shaw

As you may be aware, our friend, colleague, mentor, director, and teacher Greg Shaw continues his struggle for healing. As you may have seen in the latest entry in his wife Angela Sue's Caring Bridge journal, Mr. Shaw recently suffered a stroke following yet another surgery.

Want to help but don't know how? We encourage you to record a video of yourself sharing a message for him to see. Once you have recorded it, send it to band teacher Cooper Neil at cneil@usd250.org by using www.WeTransfer.com (this is a very easy and quick process). He will make sure that the video is passed on to Mr. Shaw through Angie — Mr. Neil will not watch any of the videos.

Let's call it a "Virtual Circle Time," if you will. In the world of theater, everyone involved in a production gathers for Circle Time just before the curtain goes up to share inspiring words and to pass energy through clasped hands.

TO PARTICIPATE:
  1. Record the video on your phone.👉
  2. Greet Mr. Shaw, introduce yourself, and mention your relationship with him ("I'm a fan who attends your shows..." or "I was a student in your class back in 2009...").
  3. Use any of the following as prompts if you need help getting started. Remember, speak like you are talking directly to him.
  • What productions have you been involved in with him?
  • What character from the musical theatre repertoire do you most associate with him and why?
  • If you had the opportunity to work with him on a production, what show would you love to do with him?
  • What lessons has he taught you?
  • What do you most look forward to when he is healed?

REMINDERS:
  1. Once you have finished, send your video to Mr. Neil at cneil@usd250.org using WeTransfer (This is a very easy and quick process).
  2. In the message, please write "GS Video Submission."
  3. Mr. Neil will share the video directly with Angie (Greg's wife), and Greg.
  4. Questions? Feel free to contact Mr. Neil.
